Where the data comes from
This page exists because of a decision we made deliberately: we do not check whether a sale is still running. Saying so plainly is cheaper and more honest than pretending otherwise.

Where the shops come from
The shop catalogue is a mirror of a commercial directory that records which shops exist, what they sell and where their sale, outlet and refurbished sections live. We read it; we cannot write to it and cannot ask it to re-read a shop.
Where the deals come from
Three ways in. Feeds and pages of sources we reviewed one by one and approved in writing; the shops' own sale sections from the catalogue above; and links sent by people using this site, each read by a person before it appears.
What “last checked” means
It is the date the record was last confirmed by its source, and nothing more. It does not mean somebody opened the shop's page that day, and it does not mean the offer is still there.
We do not promise a sale is running
A shop card says that this shop has a sale section, not that a sale is on today. A deal card shows the price and the discount exactly as the source stated them, with the date attached, so you can judge the age yourself.
What we never do
We never recalculate a price or a percentage, never invent a former price to make a discount look bigger, never crawl a source we have not reviewed, and never ignore a robots.txt. There is no background job in this system that walks shops' domains or tests whether their sale pages are alive.
If a record is wrong
A shop that would rather not appear at all is removed on request, without an argument about whether we were entitled to list it: the form on the “Our requests to shops” page does exactly that, and it needs nothing from us in return. For anything else about a single record we would rather say plainly that there is no inbox behind this site yet than promise an answer we cannot give.
